Engagement shoot

At Acet Photography, we believe that engagement photoshoots are a crucial step in the wedding photography process. Not only do they provide the perfect opportunity to capture some stunning portraits of the happy couple, but they also allow us to get to know you and your unique love story. In this blog post, we will share our recent experience of doing an engagement photoshoot with Daniel and Jas in the historic city of Bath. We will also explain why we use Rotolight continuous lighting and provide a step-by-step guide to our wedding engagement photoshoot process.

Why we use Rotolight continuous lighting

At Acet Photography, we believe that lighting is crucial when it comes to capturing the perfect photographs. We use the Rotolight continuous lighting system because it provides an unparalleled level of control and accuracy when it comes to lighting our subjects. With its fully adjustable brightness and color temperature settings, we are able to get the perfect lighting in any setting. Additionally, the Rotolight system is incredibly versatile and can be used both indoors and outdoors, making it perfect for engagement photoshoots.

Step-by-step guide

Step-by-step guide to our wedding engagement photoshoot process

Pre-consultation

Before any engagement photoshoot, we always schedule a pre-consultation with the couple. This is the perfect opportunity for us to get to know you and to discuss your vision for the photoshoot. We will ask you about your preferred style of photography and talk through any specific ideas or themes you may have. We will also find out more about your love story and what makes it unique, as this will help us to capture the perfect shots on the day.

Scouting locations

Once we have a better understanding of your vision for the photoshoot, we will begin scouting locations. For Daniel and Jas' engagement photoshoot, we chose various locations in the historic city of Bath, including the Royal Crescent and Pulteney Bridge. These locations provided the perfect backdrop for their romantic and intimate photoshoot.

On the day

On the day of the engagement photoshoot, we always arrive early to set up our equipment and make sure everything is in place. We will also spend some time talking to the couple and making them feel comfortable in front of the camera. This is the perfect opportunity for us to build a rapport with the couple and to help them feel at ease.

During the photoshoot, we will guide the couple through a series of poses and shots. We always aim to capture a range of different angles and styles, including candid shots, intimate moments and artistic compositions. Using our Rotolight continuous lighting system, we are able to create striking and beautiful images that highlight the couple and their love story.

Post-shoot editing

Once the engagement photoshoot is over, we will spend time editing and retouching the images to ensure that they are perfect. We use a combination of software and artistic techniques to enhance the images, from color grading to airbrushing. Our editing process is meticulous and we always make sure that the final images are of the highest quality.

The benefits of doing an engagement shoot before the wedding

Engagement photoshoots provide a range of benefits for both the couple and the photographer. Firstly, they provide the perfect opportunity for the couple to get comfortable in front of the camera and to build a relationship with the photographer. This is particularly important if the couple are feeling nervous about their wedding day photography.

Secondly, engagement photoshoots allow us to get to know the couple and their unique love story. This helps us to customize our approach to the wedding day photography and to capture the perfect shots that reflect the couple's personalities and relationship.

Finally, engagement photoshoots provide the perfect opportunity for the couple to use their images in a range of ways, from save-the-date cards to wedding websites and social media posts. The images from the engagement photoshoot can be treasured for years to come and serve as the perfect memory of the couple's love story.
